ARISTOTLE BELIEVES THAT HAPPINESS IS THE ABSOLUTE END IN WHICH ALL OF US AS HUMANS STRIVE FOR. ACCORDING TO HIM, WE ARE ALL STRIVING FOR SOME GOAL (OR SOME END). ARISTOTLE ALSO BELIEVES THAT WE NEED TO USE EVERY ACTION THAT WE DO TO GET TOWARDS THIS GOAL. ARISTOTLE HAS MADE IT VERY CLEAR THAT VIRTUE IS A NECESSITY IN THE OVERALL OF HAPPINESS. WE HAVE TO LIVE A VIRTUOUS LIFE BECAUSE OUR NATURAL INSTINCT IS TO BE VIRTUOUS AS LONG AS WE UNDERSTAND WHAT VIRTUE IS. WE ARE TAUGHT THAT IT ISN'T THESE ACTIONS THAT CREATE OUR HAPPINESS BUT THAT THEY ARE REALLY JUST SHOWING OUR EFFORTS TO BE HAPPY. �IF HAPPINESS IS ACTIVITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH EXCELLENCE, IT IS REASONABLE THAT IT SHOULD BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE HIGHEST EXCELLENCE.� (ARISTOTLE BOOK 10, CHAPTER 7).
