SHARK REPRODUCTION Sharks are commonly known as ancient or maybe even prehistoric, mainly because they have been around for millions of years. Since, they are such old animals they have evolved through out these years, especially in their mating, their mating looks more like mammals mating rather than a fish or any other sea creatures reproducing. It is still unsure of their actual way of mating and reproducing because not many people have witnessed it, but scientists can still predict a little bit. Although the way of reproduction is unknown it is fairly easy to determine male and female from their appearances. The males have pelvic fins, known as Claspers. The female can be identifies a little easier because they are bigger in size, and they don�t have claspers. The male claspers sometimes confuses people, its main purpose is to hold on to the female, it also acts as a male penis in mammals. The male and female also have a whole near their pelvic fins called the cloaca. There are over 360 species of sharks, which indicates that there are a lot of ways they can mate, this also make......
