Drug abuse is wrong. My definition of drug abuse is recreationally using a substance that has psychoactive properties. Doing drugs recreationally is using a drug for entertainment purposes or using them to escape your problems. An example would be an alcoholic constantly getting drunk or ingesting Vicodin without being prescribed to it or actually needing it. The only time when using drugs is okay is when they are prescribed or are intended for intellectual/spiritual purposes. A perfect example is the Peyote cactus, which is a sacred plant used by some Native American tribes in their rituals. Other examples are Shamans and South American Indian Tribes. I have many reasons for why I believe that drug abuse is wrong. The main reason is that there is a large risk of people developing an addiction or a mental dependency. This can and will cause many more problems for the person. An example is a heroin addict. They are constantly spending money trying to get their quick fix.
