Euthanasia is the practice of ending the life of a person or an animal, because they are perceived as living an intolerable life. A painless or minimally painful way either by lethal injection, drug overdose, or by the withdrawal of life support. Euthanasia is a controversial issue because of conflicting religious and humanist views. There are many different types of euthanasia such as voluntary euthanasia, non-voluntary euthanasia, active euthanasia, and passive euthanasia. Voluntary euthanasia is when the person who is killed has requested to be killed, non-voluntary euthanasia is when the person who is killed made no request and gave no consent. Active euthanasia is intentionally causing a persons death by performing an action such as by giving a lethal injection, passive euthanasia is intentionally causing death by not providing necessary and ordinary care or food and water.
