Laporte Samantha Mrs Bellens 6A English 4h Of Mice and Men: Essay Of Mice and Men is a touching and moving novel by John Steinbeck about a weird friendship, dreams and loneliness. The two main characters are Lennie and George who are bond to each other and who travel together all the time, going from farm to farm. Lennie is a little simple-minded while George is much smarter. The story takes place under the hot shining Californian sun in a farm near Soledad, surrounded by infinite fields until the Salinas River lined with trees on one side, and until the rocky Gabilan Mountains with snowy tops on the other side. Lennie and George arrive in that farm for a new job after having had some trouble in a previous farm in Weed because of Lennie. They�ll be brought to the bunkhouse where there only are bunks, a stove and a table. There, they�ll first meet Candy, an old swamper, who has been there for a long time, and who has an old dog as only friend. Then they�ll meet Curley, the boss� son, who loves fighting; and a little later Curley�s wif......
