By definition, metaphysics “refers to the branch of philosophy that attempts to understand the fundamental nature of all reality, whether visible or invisible.” (a) It establishes questions that relate to all aspects of life, especially spiritual. Some of the common questions used in metaphysics include: “what is reality?’ what is the meaning of life?” and “does a supreme being (God) exist?” No one really knows the answer to these questions, because each person views them in different ways. In terms of whether or not a “God- like” being exists, there are five reasons most commonly used to explain an individual’s view; experience (i.e. near death), faith/ religion, believing in what we can’t see, “The Watchmaker Analogy”, and the domino effect. All of which are theories that have a way of resonating the possibility of a divine entity in one’s mind.
