The Bolshevik Revolution of October 1917 is very important in the history of Russia. The importance of the revolution is demonstrated through the leadership, ideas, organisation, international influence and violence and terror behind the revolution. October 1917 saw the Bolsheviks take control of Russia with new laws and ideas being put into action through the organisation of the Bolsheviks. Vladimir Lenin was the influence behind the October revolution although there was a significant number of events that occured due to other leaders. The main idea behind the revolution revolved around "Leninism" with the organisation of the Bolsheviks. The international influence came from World War 1 (WW1) with some key mistakes made by the leaders of the February revolution.
