Planning is the fundamental function of management from which the other four follow. Planning is having a vision, objective, goal, and mission one wants to accomplish. Every organization must plan for change in order to reach an ultimate goal. Planning is deliberating who, what, where, when and how to get the accomplish goal. Strategic planning is like a gap analysis of the present, future, and how to get to the final goal. At work our plan is to upgrade the current accounting software with a new system that can promote long-term improvements. I start implementing the process in order to provide a complete picture of our long-term goal. By defining what our mission is to all employees, they can strive to accomplish and stick by the statement. Analyzing the weakness and the strengths will remove some challenges and barriers in an open constructive format.
