History Chautauqua Airlines was established on May 3, 1973 in Jamestown, Chautauqua County, New York, by Joel and Gloria Hall. The company was then acquired by Wexford Management in 1998. Chautauqua Airlines is wholly owned by Republic Airways Holdings after it completed its initial public offering in May of 2004. Republic Airways Holding is using a fleet of 100 Embraer regional jets that are deployed under the express banners of five major airlines; American, Continental, Delta, United, and U.S. Airways. In 1994, the airline announced the renewal of the code-share agreement with USAir. That new agreement included a route realignment, which relocated them to their current headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1999, they announced a new Ten-year code-share agreement with Trans World Airlines. In 2002, Chautauqua Airlines announced an agreement for Chautauqua to provide regional jet service in Florida for the Delta Connection network.
