On the night of Saturday 9 February 1567, Lord Darnley was laying in his bed resting in Kirk O�Fields castle. Earlier that day, his wife, Mary Queen of Scots had promised to spend the night with him as he was sick, but with any warning, she decided to go a ball at one of her friend�s castle � breaking her promise to Darnley. Under Kirk O�Fields, there was a large store of gunpowder for his army to defend the castle with. However, unknown to Darnley, someone had tampered with it and in the early hours of the morning, BOOM! Lord Darnley�s body was found the next morning along with a chair, a cloak and a dagger. Even stranger than that, his body had no burn marks but bruising around his neck, evident of strangulation. Who ever killed Lord Darnley had tried to make it look like and accident, but was not doing very well. The suspects Mary Queen of Scots: Two years previously, Mary fell in love with Darnley however, only after their marriage did Mary discover that he was a drunken idiot who was prone to violence. One year after that things were going ......
