In the Outsiders by S.E Hinton, the Curtis brothers and their gang have a tougher life than the Socs, living on the wrong side of town. This book is basically about the love between three Curtis brothers and how they learned to survive without their parents and the book is also about love. Over the course of the novel, the three Curtis brother�s relationship changed for the better. The relationships between the boys changed at the end of the books, by Pony realizing that Darry loves him, communicating better amongst the three brothers, and by the determination to stay together. Pony, the main character, realizes that Darry loves him by the end of the novel for multiple reasons. Clearly, Pony changes his opinion that Darry loves him when Darry states, �Listen Soda, and Ponyboy�, Darry said as they strode down the street, �If the fuzz shows, you two beat it out of here.� (pg. 137) That gives evidence that Darry cares about Pony, and Soda, his other brother. At the beginning of the book when Darry hit Pony for staying out too late, Pony runs away, believing the Darry doesn�t love him......
