Clara had a big family she had her Mother Mrs. Barton, her father Captain Stephen Barton, Her older sisters Dorothy and Sally, and her older brothers Stephen and David. Clara’s father was a captain in the United States Army, he would always tell stories about the times he had fought in a battle. Clara always loved to play with animals even rooster’s and turkey’s so of course she lived on a farm. One time Clara’s brother David had a hound named Patch, He was David’s hunting dog. Then Patch was hurt badly, he had got run over by a wagon his paw had gotten smashed. Patch did not let anyone accept Clara help him, and that was the start of Clara’s nursing.
