Discipline Paper Progressive discipline is a process for dealing with job related performance that does not meet expected and functioning standards. The reason for progressive discipline is to assist the employee to understand that a performance problem or opportunity for development assist. Corrective action is an action taken to get rid of the causes of an existing eccentricity or other undesirable situation. The goal is to improve and correct employee performance. Discipline is difficult and unpleasant, but some supervisors don�t do it, don�t do enough, or do it wrong. It�s a way of reaching out to employee and getting him or her back on the right track. Discipline enhances productivity and improves morale if communicated properly to employees.
