Comparison and contrast of Robert Browning�s �Porphyria�s Lover� and �The Laboratory� Much like how brothers differ and yet share an uncanny resemblance, so does poetry. �Porphyria�s Lover� and �The Laboratory� share the same author and consequently the author�s unique writing style. However each poem has a different purpose and even though the poems mentioned above are both Browning poems, they have their differences. When comparing poems it is imperative to dissect every aspect of it, starting from the style of the writing to the writing itself. By doing this we can derive the finer details of each poem and put them into perspective. As both poems are dramatic monologues, our chief sources of information are the main characters of the poems.
