Living in the 21st century, there are many obstacles we are faced with on a daily basis. For instance, our growing population, our demand for certain goods and services, and quite possibly the biggest obstacle of all, how to better the environment we live in now so that it will exist long after we have passed. At a time of high gasoline prices, an obstacle we face every time we fill up, as Americans we begin to wonder if there is an end in sight. According to new research, an end may very well be near. Scientists have suggested not only a fix to gasoline prices, but a fix for our environment as well, known as ethanol. As highly controversial as ethanol is at this time, it is a promising alternative energy source. Ethanol has been in existence since the 1800�s when the government imposed taxes on ethanol so as to keep oil industries thriving.
