Critical Analysis Essay of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night’s Dream Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

During this essay, I will be speaking about the theme of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The theme of this book is the powers of love, which can be very dangerous especially when someone is unwanted by their true love. I will be looking at some of the key elements inside of this theme such as “cat and mouse,” which means that when a person is in love with someone, their love will possibly be in love with a different person; and how Shakespeare used his character, Puck, as Cupid to bring people together whether it be a good thing or a bad thing. It is interesting in life when a person loves someone, they tend to run away from them, and when you do not love someone, they tend to follow you. A Midsummer Night’s Dream shows a key example of this in Act 1 Scene 1 when Hermia states “I give him curses, yet he gives me love.” Hermia says that even though she rejects Demetrius, he still continues to love her. Hermia loves Lysander and Lysander loves her back. Demetrius loves Hermia, but she does not love him. Helena loves Demetrius, but he does not love her. Once Puck uses the poti......
