Bleachers is about a little town and how there high school football team meant everything to the town and the people in the town. Bleachers is about how the little town hired a coach and he coached the high school team for 44 years. The coach had 13 state titles and 87 wins in a row, and many league championships. The coach was Eddie Rake. Rake was a very serious man and was concidered gad to the town. The book is about a quaterback that was the all-american and could go anywhere he wanted to go. He went to and tech college and he played great but then his career was ended by a late hit to the knee. It blew out and was never able to play again. The book brings you back to the good old days. How Neely the quaterback, was trying not to relive his football days. The whole town lived in the past and the glory days. Every man practically played for coach Rake and they all came back to the twon because he was diagnosed with Cancer and was going to die.
