When looking at mankind�s meager beginnings, it is almost awe inspiring to realize that over the last five thousand years, small tribes of nomadic cave dwellers organized themselves, and eventually formed the thriving societies seen today. As these societies grew throughout the ages, populations expanded, international trade networks were set up, and nations from every continent have had a direct effect on one another. With this growth of international powers, and due to the nature of mankind, specific codes of law have been created to subjugate the actions of all nations, big and small. Every nation in the world has its own set of laws, that people must follow within its borders, however on the international scale there are laws as well that must be followed by all nations living on this planet. When examining the Canadian system of laws, and those that are set for the conduct between nations, one can see that the Canadian system has been progressive while in contrast the International systems of law have not.
