Throughout history rock music has made an impact on the youth of America. Many teenage girls would scream their heart out for their favorite heartthrob or guys would be inspired by the sounds. But these sounds made many parents concerned. Rock music was born as a result of change in the music, broadcasting, advertising, and entertainment industries (Ennis 1). It was developed to give teens in the mid 1950�s (McKeen 1) an escape route from their normal lives. With this development, a lot of controversy arose about the way of the lyrics. Teens loved the way rock music made them feel, which made parents more concerned. To many people over the decades, rock music was either an uplifting or a burden. People should not stereotype rock music because it is not all bad, it helps control emotions, and it�s everywhere. Early rock and roll caused considerable controversy. Many people objected to the loudness of the music and it�s often rebellious or sexually suggestive lyrics and performing styles.
