Gandhi did not only work and write about the political side of a nation, he also was interested in all types of different sections in society. One of his best works in his life was when he talks about woman and sex. This gave women a rise in self esteem and dignity. Gandhi put forth allot of effort to help women one of the reasons was because the welfare of the weaker sections of society was dear to his heart. Gandhi had little if no doubts about the priority of social over political ends. All women in India loved Gandhi and what he was doing for them. They became attracted to his ideas. In this paper I want to give an understanding of Gandhi’s views on women in a way that will touch a little on the social, political and economic issues.
When Gandhi talked about marriage he defined it as a sacrament imposing discipline on both the partners, not a license for physical union and emphasized spiritual union in marriage.
