Philosophy Essay: Kant, Mill & Nietzsche ♦♦♦ Consider the moral issue of employment in third world countries as a result of globalization. Our economy suffers job losses by employing people in third world countries to work in factories and make what we desire. If we kept those jobs for ourselves there would be more fruitful, job-safe economy. However, our factories in these 3rd world countries are the only means of their survival. Without these jobs they would have no money (even though they only make 30 cents a day) to buy the bare essentials and live. The moral dilemma is choosing which is the right decision: (1) to stop employing the people in 3rd world countries and promote our own economy or (2) continue being their life support and help them while our economy crumbles. Kant’s ideals of morality are that of the categorically imperative. This means that Kant suggests a person chose what they believe is morally right or wrong based on their idea of what it is their duty to do for themselves.
