Supply Chain Differences A supply chain is the network of retailers, distributors, transporters, storage facilities and suppliers that participate in the sale, delivery and production of a particular product (Investor Words, 2007). This paper will explain how the supply chain differs on a B2C site compared to a B2B site. A business to customer site is defined as the exchange of services, information and/or products from a business to a consumer, as opposed to between one business and another (Webopedia, 2007). An example of this would be like if I was at home and went online to purchase a product. When most people think of B2C they tend to immediately think about websites that offer products for sale such as Target.com and Wal-mart.com. But we should not forget that B2C has broken into different areas as well. Areas include online banking, travel, and even iTunes.
