December 7, 1941, became a turning point for all Japanese Americans whether they were citizens or not. Executive Order 9066 was issued on February 19, 1942, turning the United States against everything that was stated in their Constitution. It was a time of discrimination suffrage, loss, and cruelty for the Japanese-Americans. Although it took the United States government more than 40 years to realize and accept the fact that this was wrong. With from different groups, leaders and commissioners the Civil Liberties Act of 1988 was passed. The question that we now face is, was it enough? Families lost thousands of dollars and suffered horribly during this time of cruelty.
