Being a teen in this day and age is harder than ever. There are so many other aspects of a teen�s life that never use to exist 30-40 years ago. It has only been in the last 15-20 years where things have changed. From 1980 to 1992, the rate of suicide among young adolescents increased 120 percent. As well 1 in 15 teenagers say they currently use both alcohol and illegal drugs (Children's Defense Fund, 1991). The problems facing youth are so immense, many adults throw up their hands in frustration. Furthermore in many cases, teens are viewed as "unsalvageable� by the media. It is definitely a different atmosphere for teens growing up in today�s society compared to when the baby boomers where teenagers. The baby boomers struggled with other issues like war feminism movement, rise of aids and the outbreak of drugs; just to name a few. When compared to today�s society teenagers are in a whole different ball game. Most would say being a teenager is one of the most strenuous parts of life because this is the age where you�re trying so desperately to find you�re self. Your groups of friend......
