The Egyptian and Aztec cultures are very similar and yet very different. The Egyptian culture emerged along the Nile River in northeast Africa around 3150 B.C.E. Egypt was surrounded by the sea and the dessert; this benefited them because they were almost impenetrable to foreign invasions. Egypt enjoyed a consistent religious, political, and cultural life. The Egyptian culture lasted for nearly three thousand years! The Aztec culture contained about 15 million people that lived in nearly 500 cities and towns. In the beginning the Aztecs were an insignificant tribe of warriors who migrated to Mexico in 1325; and less than a century later their empire covered all of central Mexico. Similar to the Egyptians, the Aztecs were amazing engineers.
The Aztecs believed in many gods, whom they paid tribute to every day of their lives. Human sacrifices, as well as animal sacrifices played a big part of Aztec religion.
