Controversy Amid Sex and Sexy Education: What are Our Schools Teaching? Children are having sex these days! This is a fact. It is shocking; but no one can deny it. Yet, what is dreadful is going to a hospital that treats HIV and finding out that one out of four infected people are children (Masland, 2006). The matter is not about the innocence of children or the morals behind having premarital sex. It is now a matter of life and death. Our children, the future generation, are at stake. Babies are having babies. Thus, another generation is threatened. It is chaotic. Centers for disease control document 25% of HIV infections occurring in people younger than 22, and another 40% occurring in people between the ages of 22 and 24 (Masland, 2006). The documented increasing incidence rates of STD�s and unintended pregnancies have alarmed socialists. Something regarding this issue has to be done. Thus, sex education should come to the rescue.
