The Factory Bell poem analysis Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The Factory Bell “The Factory Bell” is a poem that was written in the 1830’s by an anonymous author. It was written during the height of the Industrial Revolution. It explained the troubles that the workers had to endure, the ultimate authority of the foreman, and the hope of a better future for many of the people during that time. This poem goes through three stages: pre-Industrial Revolution, during the Industrial Revolution, and the hope for a better future. Before the Industrial Revolution, it was said that many citizens enjoyed their jobs. “The Factory Bell” begins “O happy man, o happy thou.” This shows how people from the time of the Enlightenment lived. As the people learned more about the world they lived in, they became much more self-regulating. There were new discoveries in science that explained how the planets revolved around the sun. New ideas about religion sprung up like the idea of Deism. New came up about how ideas about humans and whether they are born morally good or if they are driven by egoism.
