Deniz Kandiyoti�s article �Bargaining with Patriarchy� addresses the ways patriarchal systems in Sub-Saharan Africa affect women and the extent to which women resist and reinforce this system of oppression. The article takes a clearly Liberal feminist position which can be most closely correlated with �second wave� Liberal feminism because of the concentration on power and male dominance.
