Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde The story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is one that concerns itself with the nature of good and evil. Both characters are two totally different personas sharing the same body. Dr. Jekyll is well liked and is a wealthy and respectable doctor. The other half is the hideous and deranged Mr. Hyde, so strange looking, yet no one knew exactly what made him so revolting. One who enjoys harming the innocent and shows no remorse for what he does. Dr. Jekyll believes every human being has a good side and an evil side. He secretly undertakes experiments intended to separate his good and evil selves from one another. Jekyll claims that �man is not truly one, but truly two,� and he envisions the human soul as the battleground for an �angel� and a �fiend,� each fighting for complete control. Hyde is part of Jekyll in the fact that Dr. Jekyll brings out Hyde by choice in the beginning, letting his evil side out into the world. Although this wasn�t his intension, he hoped the potion would separate the two sides and purify them however; he brought out the darkest side. ......
