Bipolar Disorder Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Everyone has days where they are feeling a bit gloomy or unhappy about their life and also days when they feel cheerful and lighthearted. However, there are some people who tend to have extravagant mood swings. For example, in one-moment an individual might feel as though they can do anything and everything without consequence, and in the next moment these same individuals want to kill themselves because of how hopeless they feel. People who tend to feel this way on a regular basis most likely have bipolar or manic depressive disorder (MDD). For centuries people have dealt with mental disorders. These illnesses have affected their jobs, families, relationships and daily living. Individuals that have been affected by mental disorders are cast out by "normal" society due to ignorance. The purpose of this paper is to educate those "normal" people, by identifying and explaining bipolar disorder, treatment, and ways to cope with this disorder.
