Survival always comes at a cost no matter what the situation is. Although the degrees of survival can vary, there is always some level of cost experienced by the individual and for each scenario and person, the costs and consequences differ. There are both emotional and physical costs that can be experienced, during and after survival. Some of these costs may be permanent. There is not just one form of survival, but in fact many different types including psychological survival which is perhaps, the most difficult one of all to survive. To survive an ordeal, one must often lose or compromise something in order to make it worthy of being called “survival”. Strangely, although survival comes at a cost, the outcome can come with positive affects, depending on the situation.
