As Canadian citizens we all have rights which are stated in the Charter of Rights. These rights are something that should never be allowed to be taken away from us, no matter what the circumstance is. Although when rules are in play there is always some kind of exception. Just as with the charter of rights there are some exceptions. These exceptions are chosen in Canada by the judicial system and judges. The rights that we have as humans are in the hands of these judges. These judges are not voted for by the people whose rights they are defending. They apply to be a judge and then in the end are appointed by the government if they are qualified for the job. I believe that this is a good thing. So far it has been working out for our country. By not being voted for by the people there is the chance that the judges may be in favour of the minorities that rarely get their opinion heard.
