In the early 1970s low birth rates were never thought of. It is generally believed that 1 out of 10 families had small families. However, now in the 21st century, we are facing a low birth rate and an aging population. Not to mention the aging population, the number of disabled are on the rise are also starting to impact us and the need for us to be sensitive to them. To tackler the issue, the government has begun implementing measures and health benefits for these people. Thus, I believe that the government has gone the extra mile into helping these people already.
By the year 2030, Singapore will face an aging population with 800 000 or 19% of the population aged 65 and above. By this year, out of 100 people, 22 will be aged 60 years and older, 20 will be children and 58 will be of working age.
