David believed “it’s like a piece of history, you can’t change what happened then”, but something like that would not ever happen in history again. The “movement, direction and impact” of The Wave indeed had such significance that The Wave was simply not what it had been when it began. Morton Rhue in ‘The Wave’ explores how a momentous time in time could easily be recapitulated. Hitler’s absolute power was duplicated when The Wave showed coercion, appointed monitors, took on their own orders and punished those who did not join the movement. It became unstoppable leading David’s statement to be incorrect. During the period when The Wave had existed the main similarity it shared with Nazi Germany was the coerced nature which many people had if they did not join. Mr. Ross was thinking this as he heard about how people were being forced to join or they would be injured or hurt. ‘He said pretty soon people in The Wave wouldn’t want to be friends with people who weren’t in it.’ If this kept on continuing there would be a major spilt between the people who were in it and the people ......
