Jesus and Muhammad Comparison and Contrast of Christianity and Islam July 22, 2006 Their Lives The Lives of Jesus and Muhammad have influenced billions of people throughout the world to know God, Christianity and then Islam. Their lives are being compared and contrasted, with highlights of their births, teachings throughout their ministries, and their deaths, while shedding some light on who these men were, what they conveyed to the entire world and what they mean in our society today. The Life of Jesus Christian beliefs surmise that Jesus is a direct descendant of Abraham; his lineage in Matthew (NIV) from his earthly father, Joseph�s line goes back to Abraham, and in Luke 3: 23, Jesus� mother, Mary�s line traces back to Adam, the first man created by God. The Book of Matthew shows him being directly related to all Jews, while the Book of Luke shows him being the brother of all human beings. Around 5 B.C., the angel Gabriel came to Mary, who was an unmarried virgin, revealing that God commanded she was with child; she would have a son, and his name would be Jesus......
