Once upon a time there was� Michael Dell, that founded the company in 1984 with a working capital of $1,000 and an unprecedented idea � to build relationships directly with customers. As a freshman in college, Michael felt he was wasting his time being in school. He started to build computers from his dormitory charging lower fees that he used to buy more parts to build the next computer. Colleagues and friends started to order Michael�s computers not only because of the affordable prices, but also because they had the possibility of choosing any computer capabilities. Shortly after his debut, Michael Dell opened his own business. His first computer was produced in 1985 which contained an Intel processor running at a speed of 8 MHz. The company, PC�s Limited, had a $6 million gross for the first year of operation. In 1992, Michael Dell was the youngest CEO ever to earn a ranking on the Fortune 500 (www.dell.com).
