Nuclear power is clean, safe, reliable, compact, competitive and practically inexhaustible. It is the ONLY source of energy that can replace coal, oil and gas, the non-renewable fossil fuel based energy sources in Australia. If we seriously want to prevent climate change, we HAVE to promote the more efficient use of energy and we�ve got to use renewable energies such as wind and solar wherever possible, and become a more sustainable nation. However, this will not be nearly enough to slow the accumulation of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, let alone meet the needs of our industrial nation.
