A hair dryer, also known as a blow dryer is a handheld electrical device. It is used to dry and style hair. The hair dryer dries your hair by speeding up the water evaporation process. Blow dryers consists of a gun shaped plastic casing, and they usually weigh about 1 lb, so it is easy to handle while using. There are two main parts of the dryer. One part is the handle which includes the on/off switch, speed switch, and a temperature switch, with a power supply cord attached at the bottom of the handle. The other part is located above the handle, where the electric motor, and the fan are found. Next to the motor is where the air is sucked into the dryer, like a vacuum. This area is covered with a fine mesh metal screen to prevent objects such as hair or lint from getting caught in the fan. The long barrel of the blow dryer is where the heating coil is located. At the end of the barrel is another wire metal screen that prevents anyone from putting any foreign objects including their fingers, or other long objects into the heating element.
