Drug and alcohol Program for All Ages (Be Smart Don�t Start) Underage drinking and all around drug use permeates all races and ethnicities; its tragedies are felt in every community across the country. If I were to develop a program, it would be a drug and alcohol program for students of all ages, and the name would be (Be Smart Don�t Start). This program would be very beneficial. Yes, if children are interested in trying drugs or alcohol, 90% of the time they probably will, why not educate them. For many, the facts about alcoholism and drug use are not clear. This program would be a classroom-based prevention curriculum. The goal of the program would provide a classroom based prevention curriculum to all students. This curriculum program would teach more than "just say no" to students. It would teach drug resistance skills by directly addressing the social factors promoting drug or alcohol abuse, such as peer pressure, poor self-esteem, and personal safety.
