To an extent I agree with this judgment but I also think that war happened due to the attitudes of the leaders of the main countries. These countries had economic and imperial competitions, and had a fear of war which made them make military alliances, which cause tension and enthusiasm for war. I think in part, all of the countries involve have to do and has something to be blamed for, for the outbreak of the First World War. Britain She could be blamed for war, but not take all the responsibility for it. Britain was in an evident civil war, there was industrial discontent, syndicalism which was often attended by violence. Clearly Britain was having internal problems. But what could make the country unite again? War. The difficulties could be set aside having to confront an international emergency such as a war, the manifestations would be suspended. War would be a distraction for problems present. Some of the major powers of Europe saw war as a resolution to domestic anxieties. We can see how Britain was fighting not to defend any other country; she was fighting for herself, ......
