In this article, �Chance in History: The Russian Winter of 1941-1942�, by Russel Stolfi, the author speaks particularly about the Russian winter in 1941 and 1942. He also mentions how the German army was defeated in World War 2 because of the cold winter. Stolfi states clearly that the mains reason why the Germans were incapable of taking over Russia is because the winter had a big impact on their military equipment. He supports his opinion by noting how the German army couldn�t use their weapons because the cold weather did not allow them to work properly. Firstly, the author mostly speaks about the German situation; he never mentions the Russian conditions. He ignores them from the beginning of the story until the end.
