The Journey of Assimilation With each new baby that comes into our world, there is a new mind of intelligence, a new personality, and a new face. Though these humans brought into our world are not like any other human being, they still seem to still strive forward to be like one another and to assimilate into what American culture finds beautiful. Between the articles �I Want to Be Miss America,� by Julie Alvarez, and �Eye of the Beholder,� by Grace Suh, there are several differences and similarities that make each story unique. Both Julie Alvarez and Grace Suh, faced many similar struggles growing up, while trying to assimilate to �America�s eyes� of beautiful.
