Summary for Erin Brockovich Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Erin Brockovich is a true story about a woman who starts working for a lawyer who represented her in a personal injury claim. During her employment as a file clerk, she came across a real estate case between Donna Jenson and PG&E. This discovery lead to a class action suit against the utility company for chromium 6 that leaked into the town of Hinkley’s water supply. Throughout the film, Brockovich uses many innovative practices, some of which are ethically questionable. The first ethical violation I noticed was the solicitation of clients. When Erin goes knocking door to door in Hinkley looking to interview potential clients to join the lawsuit, she is committing in-person solicitation. A good example of this was when she went to Pamela Duncan, who, ironically, had a “No Solicitation” sign posted on her door. At that time Mrs. Duncan refused to speak to Erin because she said that Erin was probably just looking for money. Masry should not have been sending Erin door to door to obtain clients. Nine months later, at the picnic, Erin was introduced to Nelson Perez, a PG&E employee.......
