During Andrew Jackson’s presidency, he did many things for the common people. The common people often referred to him as “the common man”. He got rid of the National bank because he believed that it was only beneficial to the upper class and not the lower class. President Jackson did many things against the government sort of rebelling against them. Although he did many things for the lower class of society, he refused to accept the Native Americans. In his first inaugural address to the government on March 4, 1829, he says, “It will be my sincere and constant desire to observe toward the Indian tribes within our limit’s a just and liberal policy, and to give that humane and considerate attention to their rights…” (www.synaptic.bc.ca/ejournal/jackson.htm)
