Saturn It all began in 1610, when Galileo discovered Saturn�s most amazing facet, the rings, due to his antiquated equipment, he considered them to be two more planets flanking Saturn (Douthitt). Soon after in 1656, Christiaan Huygens, a Dutch Astronomer, recognized what they truly were (Douthitt). He also found a faint glimmer on the outside of the rings, a moon, later to be named Titan (Douthitt). As telescopes improved, astronomers were able to pick out at least 56 new moons rotating around the immense Saturn (Douthitt). A planet of mystery and toxic air that dims the sunlight as an �eternal orange twilight�, it rains one out of one thousand years in forceful torrents of liquid methane (Douthitt). If dropped into an ocean big enough to contain its 75,000 mile diameter, Saturn would float, like an enormous beach ball (Douthitt).
