No Sugar by playwright Jack Davis relates the story of an Aboriginal family, the Millimurras, and their struggle with the racist and self-superior attitudes of the dominant white culture of the 1930�s post colonial period. It is the unjust and high-handed treatment that the Millimurra family endure that challenges, confronts and disturbs a contemporary audience, especially one of today�s generation, who pride themselves on their egalitarian values and the fair treatment of others as an aspect of their �god given� rights as a free society. Although today�s age littered with wars and fear there is one belief that the majority of our western society holds dear � freedom.
