The novel “Grapes of Wrath” by John Steinbeck chronicles the story of the Joad family trying to survive in the 1930’s Depression in the USA. But it also tells us about social and economic circumstances separate people into rich and poor, landowner and boss, who fights against each other to live in that difficult period of time. In actual fact, in this novel the Joads serves as an example of thousands of Americans with all the problems and summons they confronted with. “The Bank owns the land. This land’s poor…And the land’s getting poorer. The dust flies away. And cotton robs the soil, takes the life out of it”(14). “The tenant system won’t work any more…One man on a tractor can take the place of twelve or fourteen families…” (15). As one can see from these quotation the first main problems were loss of their property and high unemployment. Therefore the family decides to move to the west to California in search of any food and wages. As their movement begins Joads understand that it all is class struggle and they should fight against authority not to be broken by circumstances......
