Among over 300 different versions of Cinderella, most of us are most familiar with the Cinderella under the pen of Charles Perrault. Yet, looking through the Cinderellas around the world, there is one which stands out among the others. This ��modern�� Cindy by Roald Dahl is very much different from the ��traditional�� Cinderella in bed-time story books�� From the traditional Cinderella, her most memorable character is her politeness and gracefulness; the way she acts is like a well-bred princess. Yet, this modern Cindy is demanding and impolite. When the Ugly sisters left for the ball, Cindy demanded and shouted at the fairy for things to wear. She shouted, ��I want a dress! I want a coach!
