Traffic is a docu-drama of sorts which looks at the illegal drug trade occurring between the United States and Mexico. The story examines the drug culture from three separate stories that all affect one another. Following an honest Tijuana policeman trying to make a difference, a DEA agent protecting a key witness in the drug supply chain, and America�s newly appointed Drug Czar who is dealing with his daughter�s drug addiction; the movie discusses the United States failing �War on Drugs.� All three characters are working to stop the drug trade but run into many obstacles throughout the movie. It shows the illegal drug trade as a simple issue of supply and demand. Traffic�s premise asserts drugs are an unstoppable force that we a working in vain to stop. The Tijuana Cartel is the major crime organization examined in the movie. They are led by the Obregon brothers, and oversee production and wholesale distribution of drugs from Mexico to the United States.
