Twisted I sit in the passenger�s seat of my best friend�s brand new car, the aroma of leather filling the air as we pull out of the school parking lot. We turn the radio loud, sing along, and put on our lip-gloss�so carefree, like we are invincible. Katie has always liked being the center of attention, and that is fine with me because I am shy anyway. She is better than I at most things but still has a way of making me feel good about myself at the same time. We have each other�s backs. I�ll never forget what happens next� Turning onto the freeway to get to her house, Katie starts to pick up speed a bit. I think nothing of it since I have driven with her so many times before, and I fully trust her. I continue singing to my favorite song and looking at myself in the mirror. The car starts going faster. I look down and notice that I have forgotten to buckle my seatbelt, so I do.
